communities are defined, in large part, by their rules. if you don't like the rules your instance has, then move. that's what's great about federating (not some surface-level similarity to email, GOSH I wish we would let that metaphor go).

@guildencrantz @ashfurrow spam folders *still deliver the message*. they don't break federation. also, spam or no spam, you can still email anyone you want - which you can't do if your server admin breaks federation. eventually, people will leave censored services. spam is easy to discern; imposing your moderation opinions on others is a horse of a different color.
