       @eightbitsamurai Well there's the fact that it takes place in 1912 when racism was a bigger issue. Not that it wasn't an issue in 1950 when the first game took place, but it's hard for racism to be brought up when your secluded city under the ocean only has white people in it.

       @eightbitsamurai @Rakou i played this game in one sitting in a fever like state so i might be misremembering but also after the time skip when there's the revolt and they tried to do an awful both sides thing that was awful

       @CocoCoconuts @eightbitsamurai  I also played it in one sitting (I think) but I've only played it through once, so my memory is definitely hazy. I don't remember them trying to spin it as both sides being awful, I just remember you wanted to do what you were there to do while a war was happening.Although yeah thinking about it the thing I do remember was the choice of throwing a ball, where the choice was "be racist" or "don't be racist", which was kind of stupid. I kind of wonder if they just made it a choice to play into the "constants and variables" theme but didn't really think about how blunt they were being with it. Just kind of the first thing you see when you show up is "Hey! Racism is happening! Come here and be racist with us, fellow white male!" It's possible the rest of the game does the same shit and I just can't remember it because it's been so long.
