@kitsune @Feuerfuchs @rin Yeah, this is why I'm mentioning the Qi thing in the first place. I expect all Android manufacturers to eventually follow along to get the same benefits as with removing the headphone jack, to which I didn't oppose - but yeah, not even being able to use ADB directly, use fastboot or do charging as usual is gonna hurt too much.

@kitsune @Feuerfuchs @rin The only actual issue I see with the Pinephone is the software. I hope the Purism changes to GNOME become mainstream and that developers get serious about libhandy and Kirigami, because otherwise it's gonna be quite a shitshow :blobuwu:(I think ubPorts and Sailfish OS work though, so you should get a decent mobile UI immediately after buying the phone, even if with dying OSes)

@Holot @kitsune @rin but you can basically service everything with usb-c sure you have to carry 10 dongles or one really big one but you still have a solid wired connection at the end, which is not the case if your only options are wireless.

@nekojanai @kitsune @rin I can't find info on whether there's a dedicated MacOS team or not, so I might be wrong on that (I heard about it a couple years ago, so maybe people were just mistaken?).Given that Apple does both the hardware and software, I think it's best to look at the 2 together. And given how long it took Apple to update the Mac Pro, how slow they've been with updating the Macbook Pro's chassis and the state of the Mac Mini, it leads one to think that they haven't really been focusing on the Mac side of things for a while.Maybe they are now; they have just updated the Mac Pro and the Macbook Pro, and they have done some pretty big things with Catalina. I guess we'll see where it goes.
