This is Sir John Freeman, Baron Fremingham of Glassenbury. He is my 15th great grandfather, a Knight, a Baron (british royalty). He changed his name from DeFremingham to Freeman, I suspect the name change was due to membership in the freemasons, but since it predates the organization globally (grand lodges) it can be hard to be certain. But family tradition and history is highly suggestive here, my entire male line goes back to the beginning of free masonry and this name change just a few generations before that. So the link is highly suggestive. It is from him my coat of arms and technically my status as british royalty, but functionally these things are meaningless, just interesting historic gems is all.

@mikelga The Freeman line on its own is the boat of arms i attached (though the lozenges may be white instead of blue)The Coat of Arms you see int he image is one I also technically "own" but its a coat of arms that was inherited through marriage. So the other 3 sectors represent the coat of arms of wives who married into my male lineage, and thus granted me the rights to include them in the fashion shown here if i wish. But generally the more "pure" coat of arms is the one I'm more likely to use unless i wish to announce the other royal blood that was married in (which i care less about personally).

@mikelga Its a good motto I agree. My family history is very cool. I never knew my dad growing up so i discovered all this rather late in life. I was surprised to learn my entire family lineage, almost all my great grandparents down to my father, all made it into notable history books.

@freemo Your quick bouts into your heritage remind me of myself... they are not easy to understand ^^ I like you, but between being native american, child to rich parents, and some british royalty and-then-not, you are all over the place :-)

@freemo Interesting stuff... say, what was your childhood like? Asking from the perspective of a non-us-person, we generally don't put so much weight on the genetics (bad experiences in the past). To explain why i asked, at one time you said you were native american, and i questioned it, i kinda have this question in the back of my head if you actually know what it is like or if it was a claim on genetics ^^

@hans I'd be curious to take a closer look at how the borders might have changed between the Netherlands and Germany over the years. I know the Dutch were their own nation going back quite a ways at least, but I suspect the borders have moved quite a bit.@admitsWrongIfProven

@🎓 Dr. Freemo :jpf: 🇳🇱 @admitsWrongIfProvenAfaik (strait from memory) the Dutch started the Netherlands late, 17th century if I recall. Borders did move, I live in the Grafschaft Bentheim that was once part of the Netherlands afaik, would need to dive in it.

@🎓 Dr. Freemo :jpf: 🇳🇱 The Dutch indeed started early. Currently I have access to an extended family tree from both the Dutch and the Germans. Some 5 years ago it was extended to Poland since I found I have a half brother there. The only missing link is a different half brother who had a Jamaican father. I only have one picture and a name, the half brother does not live anymore. Did know him but he passed when I was 13 and during those days parents hardly told their kids anything.
