@cdmnky there needs to be better tools to remove existing posts from your instance but that's about it, the rest is a superset.

@steph (sorry i haven't replied but my instance is so far behind on stuff for some reason) but how would one go about completely cutting off an instance both ways?put it in reject, federated timeline removal AND quarantined instances while also unsubscribing all users from the instance?i did all but the last thing and matrix was still able to boost my posts made after the config change as if nothing happened, and i still see posts from instances in TWKN that shouldn't be

@cdmnky Pleroma doesn't store local copies of remote media so of course there's no way to remove them - all caching is done by your reverse proxy software, which is separate from Pleroma. If you don't want to store media at all, don't use mediaproxy.Pleroma doesn't make you accept anything - if I block an instance new posts will not be accepted from them.I fail to see what your problem is :blobcatdunno:

@cdmnky it looks like your problem was you turned on Pleroma's crawler which is a TERRIBLE idea when you want a good federated timeline. Why would you do that? Of course a lot of posts will be from Pawoo - it's a big instance.

@cdmnky damn, sounds like a bug if so. Reject should stop you from seeing anything, replies, boosts, accounts, everything which happened after the config change. If not, either there's a bug (kinda unlikely given the pleroma spec suite) or there's an issue with the config. Is the simple mrf in your list of mrfs?

@cdmnky getting rid of the line should fix it, also clear your oban jobsAnyway that explains why you got tons of pawoo posts - it found one pawoo profile, started crawling, found more profiles, etc

@cdmnky i think you need to change your attitude if you want to have free tech support. regarding your issues:> - does NOT remove local copies of media/posts from affected instancesit's true that the post don't get removed, that should probably be possible. Remote media is not stored locally, so there's nothing to remove> - does NOT allow total silencing or blocking from instanceswhat does that mean exactly? if you put an instances in reject, everything by them will be... rejected> - FORCES your server to accept public and unlisted posts unless you ip ban themi don't quite know what that means either. do you mean that another server can get your public posts? If so, this is true, we don't have an option for that yet. I'll open an issue about requiring signed fetches, we already sign them when sending anyway.

@cdmnky reject does not "reject media", it rejects posts. MRF can only work on future posts. perhaps a tool to replay pre-existing posts through MRF may be useful, but I'm busy dealing with work that I actually get paid to do (and not yelled at and not called a nazi by half the fediverse for not using Mastodon). by the way, if Mastodon moderation is better for you, maybe you should use Mastodon.
