@sir I will actively use worse software if the only feature it provides over something else is a dark mode

@sir Depends on the surrounding light. Bright daylight -> Light mode. As soon as it's getting darker -> Dark modeAesthetics -> Dark mode

@sir Usually dark, but sometimes I switch to light for a change.

@sir Depends on the overall UI but in most cases rather dark mode.

@sir Depends on application, for example on terminals & IDEs I prefer dark mode, but for instance while reading blogs, I prefer light mode.

@sir i usually go for darkmode, especially on display tech that wears over time like CRTs and OLEDs, but i'll use good implementations of both

@sir I greatly prefer dark mode on devices with OLED screens or whatever, where darker colors use less energy. On an LCD screen where colors have no effect on energy usage, I use light mode in the day, dark at night.

@sir As a long time book reader, I am so used to black type on a white background that Dark Mode just seem strange. I am trying to get used to it, because in theory it is better for my eyes, but habits are very hard to change.

@sir It really depends on the application, honestly.

@sir I use and prefer dark mode on my computer, where I spend most of my time. But on my phone, I prefer light theme because not all apps implement dark themes well enough, or at all.If my phone were to use an OLED screen, then complete black all the way. (Even going out of my way, like via Substratum & such)

@sir I genuinely like having it change roughly at sunset. It's a good cue to switch from work to personal mode, *and* it lets me decrease ambient light in a way that helps me sleep better.

@sir I mean the battery savings alone is a reason for dark everything...

@sir "Web engine -> No JavaScript, limited CSS."Would you, if so, how, render/load data dynamically?

@sir Oh I just saw I didnt post it below the actual post.Makes sense as you can just render it as CSS.
