@deighs Thank you. It's a very hard hit and it seems to get harder every time. One of these days a family member, one of my dogs, anyone will pass on and I'll just die right along with them.I know I'll feel better in a couple weeks, sort of, but right now...no. Not in a good place at all.

@blouie He was the only dog I ever had that you could tell he was actually smiling. He'd light up your day no matter how crappy it was. Whenever I came home from anywhere he'd yowl and howl for several minutes, smiling his butt off the whole time. I knew this was coming. Heart failure. After he suffered all night I was going to take him to the emergency vet to end it. I had him in my truck, he died the minute we crossed the property line.I miss him.

@EarlThePearls @deighs Thank you, I think it does make a difference. All the loss I've had in my life and all the loss I've caused made me turn grief into rage.I'm getting past that point finally, slowly, but the rage has been replaced with a rending grief. I don't know what's worse.I do know it tempers with time. Some. Support helps immeasurably and I appreciate it.

@DeplorableMe He was (still is) a very good boy. I think I did give him a good life. He was a rescue from Ohio, he was on his last day before execution when a group picked him up and got him fostered in Michigan. My other beagle fell in love with him and it was great ever since. Now they are together again 'in the next room' as Thomas puts it.I buried Buster right next to her this afternoon. I made a classy coffin for him too, he deserved it.
