cockatoos are smart. i must've startled one by walking near it so it yelled at me (loudly) ... so i replied "hey fk off i'm just passin' through" and it shut right the hell up. good birb.

@mngrif geez, that will be registered on the Cockatoo's memory as a very memorable harassment moment. 😛 I vividly remember a similar moment; hiking on a trail and near the mountain top facing a HUGE cow (thankfully not a even scarier bull) with wide and pointy horns.I diverted into the rocks and treeline, while gently talking and explaining I was merely passing by and meant no harm, no need for distress, etc. My companion took a photo, we passed peacefully.Coexistence is possible.

@design_RG no doubt it could have made a dinner out of me, and that cow a dinner out of you. i was all too happy to get the hell out of its territory!
