LA Gov race. The guy who won - Edwards - is a pro- 2AM, anti-abortion centrist who identifies as a Democrat. He won. Just. Good for him.Alas he's an outlier in the Dems these days. And if he's lying, he'll be a 1 term wonder.Hey everyone, try to avoid the partisan crap. Trump is important because he shattered the GOP vs Dem establishment. Truth is if he is honest, Edwards isn't bad for the USA. If this is what the Dems offer, they may do well.In 2028/2032!https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50448814

@REX I'm a registered independent, so I'm not approaching this from a D vs R angle. I just don't trust the current version of the Democratic Party. As long as the Pelosis, Schumers and Clintons run that party that will remain the case.A lot of Repubs I don't trust, either, like Grahamnesty.

@timr Keep in mind that neither the Dems or the GOP are trustworthy groups.Just because Trump used the GOP machine to win the Presidency, doesn't mean we support the GOP. Far from it.We support Trump and him alone. GOP vs Dem partisan bickering means nothing.Sure it was an Obama/Clinton op, but the GOP in cahoots ALSO tried to nix Trump in 2016.

@REX Similar thing happened in my town. The Republicans voted straight rep for every other category but town council. Our mayor is doing a great job. He keeps taxes down, implements great programs and is an honest man. His team won hands down, Republicans did not offer strong candidates and actually attacked our great Mayor. So we voted the Dems back in. I was happy to see people voted with their heads and didn't just vote Rep. because they love Trump.

We're likely to lose one of the few Republican seats we've managed to hold onto. It's infuriating.

@Elaines2cents @Debradelai @karnage @REX @timr Regardless of what many say, I DO think the impeachment/investigation noise matters on the margins enough to throw races. This is why what happens in the next several months matters a lot. But, the Democrats have their own unique problems here; keeping the house will also be exceptionally difficult. The impeachment hoax will hurt many of those who won by less than two points in swing and red districts, especially with Trump on the ballot. @REX I support Trump and the GOP as well. In a two party system, that choice has to be made. I understand the point about Louisiana. A locally popular candidate wil transcend party affiliation for enough people to win.Charlie Baker is the Republican governor of Massachusetts and is very popular. I vote for him despite his left-leaning views because he is the only option. But so do more than enough Democrats in this deep blue state. He is far more popular than Warren.1/2

@timr @Debradelai @loc1000 @karnage @REX No doubt and the impeachment hearings are doing justifiable damage but, people need to understand this will be no easy win. People have to get their asses up and get to the polls. LA has an estimated population of 4.7 million and we lose the governorship by 45,000 votes. That is pathetic especially in a state that holds the majority in every other political seat. I'm sure Senator Kennedy was spitting fire watching this happen.

@REX @timr Simply inaccurate."WE" DO support the GOP because the GOP is Trump, and Trump chose the GOP."Everyone is bad" equivalency argument is simply not factual. Nowhere in the Democrat Party is there a Nunes, Grassley, Jordan, Meadows, Scalise, Pence, Pompeo, Kennedy, Abbott, DeSantis, Biggs, Sessions, McCarthy, Stefanik, Collins, etc, etc. GOP and Dems are NOT the same, and it is important that "we" understand this.
