@ranjona @VivekT Sanghis always had a soft corner for Hitler. Most of them , unless they are very smart and know who they are talking to (and therefore control themselves), sooner or later will blurt out "what Hitler did was right". At least most lower rank Sanghis are like this. I think they take what he did to Jews as some sort of model about what they should do to Muslims.

@shinjini @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona Agreed. Initially even Hitler was welcomed by most of the leaders. Times have changed as far as dissemination of information is concerned. There cannot be pogroms without the world knowing the next day. The situation is not ideal but it is not hopeless either.

@VivekT I’m not that optimistic. I see atrocities happening the world over. And no one is doing anything about them. Look at the Rohingya crisis, as an example. Or the refugee crisis from Syria, when it was happening. Most countries would rather send them back to Syria to die than allow them into their borders. @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona

@shinjini @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona Point taken. Just go back in time a few decades and imagine yourself a citizen of the erstwhile Soviet state. Similar atrocities were happening there and the Ukrainians, Latvians, Belarusians et al were wondering whether they would die under the Russian yoke. @sanjayuvacha Doesn't surprise me. Nazi insignia has been always been trendy kinda thing for people. Hitler and Nazi are too normalised here in India. Words like Hitlershahi, Hitlergiri are regularly used to denote rather benign stuff. I remember there was popular show called "Hitler Didi" on Zee a long time back.

@ashwin_baindur True. But to counter the current RW narrative, we need to put some of that individualistic nature aside and come together. I know not all left/liberal/left of centre have the same beliefs either. Some of much more open and liberal than others, and then we beat up those who aren’t ā€œliberal enoughā€I think there comes a point when we have to define a common ground and stand together. @AnyCat @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @VivekT @sanjayuvacha this proves what? People can read any books, that doesn't necessarily mean that they follow each and every book they read.

@Agnostic_Indian Right but it gives you an idea. A book becomes a best seller for many reasons, but the primary reason for the sales numbers of an autobiography is the fasination/admiration the buyers have about the author (in this case the abominable Hitler) @AnyCat @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @sanjayuvacha

@VivekT @AnyCat @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @sanjayuvacha you have no data or study to prove that do you? Just like year's My theory is that it's a famous author and a famous book, people will be curious to know.

@Agnostic_IndianThe fact that Hitler's hate filled screed is among the most sold books on India's pirate book market is "data", the reasons are so blindingly obvious that you only need a study if you want to disprove the clear correlation. @VivekT @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @sanjayuvacha

@Agnostic_Indian @AnyCat @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @sanjayuvacha The basic premise of your theory is wrong. Hitler is not a famous author. He is infamous. Yes infamy also attracts readers but very few discerning readers. You might be a discerning one that much I can agree.

@VivekT @AnyCat @Vishsai @ajithegde @ranjona @sanjayuvacha you are right he is infamous. Please account that error to my lack of language skills. We must agree to disagree on what attracts people to mein Kamph, but I would agree that it also includes a good number of Hitler fans.
