Watching Jack Ryan first two episodes after the Mandalorian yesterday was such a disappointment.The writing is so predictable, the hero such a caricature.Action scenes are rather boring overall, and the hero worship (Jack finds/ notices/ solves stuff no one else can!) super thick.The plot actually has moslem people that are presented in a positive light, but only so far as they are "peaceful" and deferential to true blood Americans ("Come & pray at the mosque brother!").

@ParadeGrotesqueJack Ryan was never a deep character. That's one of the reasons those books bare so popular - easily digestible characters. He's somewhere between Mack Bolan and Sherlock Holmes.

@Skypilot True, but the TV series reaches a new low in shallowness...This is hero worship at its worst.

@ParadeGrotesqueI don't think it's the worst thing on the air, but it's definitely not great. And I did find the story line of season 2 to be almost completely uninteresting. As well, I'm not sure when the strike team became so incompetent. I won't give any spoilers but their tactics and procedures are really poor this season. I don't remember them being that poor in season 1.
