@snowdusk_ Pope Francis hinted that "WW III has started" a couple of years ago; although the global situation also seems very similar to what I remember from ages 10-16 (the bigger problem maybe is neoliberalism has created a false sense of optimism and security, whilst the underlying global issues discovered in 1960s and 1970s were just left unresolved, whilst people (at least in richer countries) could access "bread and circuses" (and cars) - now this is being threatened folk are angry..

@snowdusk_ It was in the UK media in the 70s that global fascism's plans for WWIII were already underway. In the meantime several POTUSes have said 'it won't happen,' finally Obama said 'it hasn't happened.' There was a decline in wars up to 2008 when a decline stalled https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War#History . If you look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ongoing_armed_conflicts the current count is still under the 200 I was taught was a constant at school in the early 70s. Considering what 1920s depression did to the world, we're OK.
