@kaniini thats not very nice to say. #Misskey is trying so hard to make everything work. Imagine trying to navigate this space not knowing english with zero documentation in your language. Im sure if you explain to them whats wrong with the way they implemented it they would fix it.

@lain @mewmew @kaniini @liaizon I feel like the main problem with not showing the domain would be solved with only displaying it when there were multiple users with the same @, but I agree with @mewmew in that it's kind of nice (though this is probably because blob.cat is the best domain and one of very few that do not hurt to look at).

@kaniini @fluffy @lain @liaizon @mewmew discourage them simply because of differences in how hellthread participants utilise fedi?im not a fan of hellthreads either, theyre too big and hard to navigate, but the issue there is more a ux one than the fact they exist in the first place. plus, there arent a set amount of qualifiers for what constitutes a hellthread. you could say this turned into one simply because its fairly big and has a few interested participants

(this can't really be fixed without paginating the thread, which requires guessing what posts should be displayed)on the server because many things have O(n) algorithmic complexity (this should be fixed)

@kaniini @opal @fluffy @lain @liaizon there's a difference between "hellthread because a lot of users are interested" and "hellthread because some asshat decided to tag twenty random people into an unrelated thread". The second one is annoying and a DoS, the first one is legitimate usage though, and should probably be dealt with in some way (like lazy-loading large threads).
