...2/2I still have plans for fedi, and really want to stay close to most of yall, but niu was drafty and didn't ended like I would want now, and I can't change that, I want to find back the fun of building something I had in 2017, but for now there will be some time of pause uhuhI /might/ also have plans for a tiny human-scale server for really desperate friends that /really/ can't find a place outside, but please please please, I beg u, do find somewhere else if you can because I will have very high standard of comfness for myself, including being very ideologically strict or other stuff like that, so unless you beg allegiance to your local queer-anarchist-nerd-gamer-socialist party ya might not find anything cool there. Since even my tiny masto.quad.moe did.It doesn't matter if only 1% of your users are bad, because they'll hunt out those users and scream 100x as loud about it and publicly shame you for doing nothing wrong, but for simply not agreeing with their political and moderation beliefs.

So uh, concerning "niu index project" (to keep in touch where everyone went) something that will keep all users email/username/password and that would be kept almost indefinitely on the domain should be enough imho?Like a big index that would redirect niu.moe/@Usernames to a tiny bio page you can customize or delete when connected.Should be lightweight enough and instance agnostic to be in use for others too :blobcatthinking:

If you haven't, do so now!You miiight be able to get away with keeping Niu up for a bit longer if new users aren't registering and old users are migrating away, but I honestly doubt that given how big it's got and how much moderation you do.Maybe you could get somebody to hack in a "no post, only receive notifications and delete" mode for between March and whenever you turn it off – that might help ease the final transition.
