I like to clarify why we don’t have a verification system like the #birdsite with the blue thingy next to your name.On the #fediverse or at least #Mastodon we all are equal. No person is ‘higher in ranks’ or better than everyone else, our point is exactly the opposite. We want equality right? We have plenty of methods to prove who you are on other platforms, we don’t need a badge for that 😉 Ofcourse you can use it however you like but this would be the reason, I’ll hope you’ll understand

@stux A fine idea, but... Not quite. Fediverse has two main tiers: instance owners and members. The power of sysops pretty much ensures they are “higher in ranks” than others, regardless.

@stux Its pretty easy to add one though. After all its just an emote :verified: . The problem arises when it becomes some sort of standard and someone else control on who gets to have it.

I am very happy that there's someone out there who understand the need of EQUALITY and its virtual necessity for the people who are fighting for it in their day to day reality, in their lived life. @stux an authentication process will be helpful to famous persons as their opinions got strong influence on mass if somebody fakes such personalities might end up in big chaos its already happened in case of a famous politician from India later his office issued a notice to clarify it
