Women change a lot over our lives. Our ideas and passions change along with our bodies. The “3 Ages of Woman” — Maiden, Mother, Crone — remind me that it’s not just me changing. Men don’t seem to change nearly as much. The “3 Ages of Man” (Boy, Father, Geezer?) is not part of the collective mythology. Most men start as babies and stay that way until they die.

@ninapaley ive had conversations with men about this growing and changeing thing. Many seem to hit puberty and get stuck at teenage and are proud of still being the same person they have always been.

@Connie @ninapaley it is ive met too many men whose attitude is This is who i am, who i always have been always will be. As if it is an achievement to be ‘fixed’ and rigid (maybe its penis related🤣)

In our circles, we reclaim the age of the Queen. The phases of the moon are four, not three. The kids are grown, we have accumulated wisdom and leadership skills, and we’re not yet ready to to retreat from public life, where the path of the Crone will eventually lead us. To render invisible this important life phase, means we only define ourself from the male POV, which limits us to our reproductive capacity. @ninapaley

@SouerTeresa @ninapaley This is one of the main reasons why I have given up relationships with men. My biggest interest in life is personal growth, and I have outgrown them all because they just don't care about improvement. They keep cracking the same teenage jokes even when they're 70.

I love the symbolism of Maiden Mother Crone. It's apt that only women have the 3 stages and not the boring men, which as you say, is only one continual state of incessant manwhining.@ninapaley

@Juju @ninapaley the older i get the more i find men far more 2 dimensional than women. I have little to do with them now.
