@moonman @roko the odd thing is that I've met people before who only use "they", rather than any gender-specific pronoun.I actually kind of liked that perspective, and can't wrap my head around why people would assume it's an attack on someone's assigned or chosen pronouns.

@sean @moonman @roko I've always been one to use they. Comes from when I had to do a lot of tech support and I wasn't trying to make assumptions about someone's gender based on voice. That bit me in the ass a few times. I do apologize if that's ever offended anyone.

@sean @roko @moonman I guess this explains why I haven't been bothered about using they: "An examination by Jürgen Gerner of the British National Corpus published in 1998 found that British speakers regardless of social status, age, sex, or region used the singular they overwhelmingly more often than the gender-neutral he or other options."If I'm not sure of someones gender or if it isn't relevant then I will use they.
