I appreciate your threads, even though I support Trump 500%.Sure I have criticisms of him sometimes, but for the most part I keep it to myself knowing that within 48 hours any criticism I have is completely defused and rendered moot.As for myself, I don't bother trying to soothe people's angst that is born from years of 'business as usual'. A person can "change their own mind" about something pretty easily but engage in debate to try and CHANGE their minds to your way of thinking and a psychological defense is enabled that entrenches them in their beliefs at all cost. Watching it all unfold now and as Thomas notes here the elastic defense is the best way. Go with the flow and offer no resistance and eventually they WILL look for the truth most likely

Muhammad Ali in his 1974 Rumble in the Jungle match against George Foreman, Rope-a-dope is performed by a boxer assuming a protected stance (in Ali's classic pose, lying against the ropes, which allows much of the punch's energy to be absorbed by the ropes' elasticity rather than the boxer's body.
