       @hierarchon like the tricky thing is that i don't want to be elitist about something that is a nearly universal aspect of everyday human experiencebut when people start swinging their wrongness around like a sledgehammer it aligns my "nyehhhh that's not technically correct >:c" brain with my "wow you're a fucking asshole" brain and i can't hold myself back anymore

       @minty_da for some reason fake etymologies/people acting like the etymology is the sole determiner of a word's meaning sets me the hell off and i don't know why
