       Conceptually, I am still not sure how to re-add hashtags to the profile directory. Since the column is narrow I can't list them on the side like before. I'm not sure if that was a helpful design in the first place...#mastodev

       @Gargron I found out that they are not used very much on this server. They only become usable on large servers is my experience. But if you want to re-add them, you can try if using the <details> html tag is useful here.

       @Gargron I would use them but for the average user they would probably be confusing extra knobs. Assuming the users visit the profile directory with the objective of "finding people that share my interests", hashtags could be used behind the scenes to highlight profiles that share hashtags with me, or that have boosted/liked toots with the same hashtags as I have ?
