I miss my nephew already. It was nice having a near total disconnect from the internet while I played video games with him. Now I'm back online and I'm reminded of how shit everything is.

@SolanumGF I mean, the Fediverse is alright most of the time, but, apart from this place and a handful of other sites, I don't really do much online anymore. The magic is gone. I just use the internet to stay in contact with people and to learn things. I can't remember the last time I made a shitpost outside of this place, let alone a post that required effort.

@BocoAh, yeah, I totally get that. I tend to go through phases with internet. Had a couple nice weeks of no signal at all recently. A nice little break.

@SolanumGF Yeah. That is nice. Kinda wish I could disconnect as easily from real life. I've got a lot of things I'd like to take the time to work on, but most of my real life connections are intensely needy and ungrateful. Kinda feels like I'm never going to accomplish the things I want, because people get offended at the thought of me not paying attention to them. Every time I pick up a pencil, the people around me suddenly need me or want to spend time with me. If I make plans, I'm harassed the whole time I'm gone. It's all very frustrating.

@BocoThe real trick is to move away and no recreate the same situation. I have a mother pretty much demanding I return to her part of the country. Not happening unless some dream job falls in my lap.
