@redwhitebluedude They put him on a 72-hour psychiatric hold, and it turned into TWENTY DAYS.He's bipolar.The people who oppose red-flag laws keep choosing the wrong gun owners.They wanted me to support the old man who OPENED FIRE ON THE COPS when they came for his guns.He proved that they were right to take his guns, but by that time it didn't matter, because he was dead.Hopefully they buried him with his beloved guns.

@redwhitebluedude @ThomasWic I read the article and even tho I'm anti-gun confiscation - this one was borderline. The redeeming end note was his recognition that he looked crazy and his admission that both sides needed to cool it. He had some warning signs for sure BUT he seems ok to me. My only question is - was he sincere or saying the right thing just to play the part? hmm...

@ThomasWic @redwhitebluedude The a$$hole that shot my daughter in 2014 was in the psychiatric ward of our local hospital for 72 hours a few weeks before he shot her. They wanted to commit him to the state hospital but for some reason didn’t. I can only guess that his very wealthy, well connected father had something to do with it. A priest went to his room and gave him his blessing then he was sent on his way.A few weeks later he applied for a gun permit (nobody knew except him).

Zero.It would’ve been nice if there had been a red flag law saying that no one who has been in a psych ward should be allowed to have a gun for a very long time, and only when they are fully, thoroughly, exhaustingly evaluated over a long period of time.Things would have been so different.
