       In other news this week, a coworker of mine that lives in Florida was our walking her dog. It got off the leash, ran to a pond and was eaten by an alligator. I am not sure why, but this has really gotten to me. I never met the dog, but god damn do I feel horrible for the dog and my coworker.

       @jerry At the risk of being entirely inappropriate: the aligator had a good week.

       @dredmorbius you’re not wrong. I guess it’s all a matter of perspective

       @jerry#florida Yikes. If it isn't bathsalt face-eating zombies or hanging chad, it's something else destroying the world.

       @jerry this is not uncommon to hear of. One of my friends lived on a retention pond and would regularly hear from neighbor's that a gator was spotted in it.

       @jerry An alligator, in a pond, easily accessible when walking ones dogs. Now I see a good reason for the USA's mental gun laws. Feel bad for your friend, but hey, they didn't get eaten...

       @ddench her husband briefly jumped in and started fighting with the gator, but quickly realized he was too late and he would possibly be next if he kept going.

       @jerry horrible!! Alligators are not as dangerous as the crocs in Queenland. One of them called "Agro" in Australia Zoo has a bad habit of leaping out of the water and attacking the lawnmower!! (Look it up)

       @nbering indeed. It would be terrible for that to happen to anyone, but she is a really nice person and her dogs are her kids.

       @jerry I grew up on a farm. There was life all around, but the balance is that there was a lot of death, too. Especially with the barn cats. At least once a year growing up I’d find one had been hit by a car our hunting at night.It’s hard not to let it get the better of you when it’s an animal that’s like family. And it’s so much worse when it happens while you’re right there.
