       i need to actually put in effort to conceptualize the phrases "her husband" and "his wife" instead of "his husband" and "her wife", they're just so unintuitive

       @velexiraptor tbh this is the one place where french gender rules shine, the possessive adjectives depend on the noun they're modifying—not the antecedentso `son marié`/`sa mariée` has no inherent sexuality...one of the problems though is you have things like `les mariés` is always masculine pl when it could be `les mariées` for lesbians but it isn't pronounced so whatever
