Thread: 1) Sunshine patriots. Watching the reaction to the aftermath of the mass shootings in Dayton and El Paso has me shaking my head. I've never been a member of a party, except for a brief flirtation with the Libertarian Party (until I realized how truly crazy they are). I've voted for Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and Libertarians. I've sometimes voted for lost causes just because I wanted to.

2) I voted for Kinky Friedman on a lark. (For those of you who don't know, Kinky ran for Governor in Texas and had zero chance of winning.) I did it as a FU to the establishment candidates. I voted for Ross Perot. (And no, he didn't cause Bill Clinton to be elected. Do your research.) The bottom line is, I've always gone my own way. And, how many are still dying of Nam-related issues? My husband's ashes are interred in a national cemetery.
