I'm still really surprised Israel has a media organization directly and fully supported by the public, that is completely transparent about their funding/expenses and actually does proper journalism that even manages to influence policies and ministers.Feels completely out of place. Almost contradictory.https://shakuf.press/english/

@artik Out of place among Israeli politics generally or out of place among media generally? Because having an independent and transparent media seems like a very Jewish value to me.

@freakazoidIsraeli politics and media.Israel has an issue of centralization, the banks, media, communication companies, etc are mostly owned by a small group of people. Those people are connected with each other and with politicians. This affects what the media reports on and how. It affects the policy makers, who vote against transparency laws and make sure the policies they push will benefit the companies they're connected to.For example, politicians helping the owners of media companies get more positive exposure by the media, which influences people to vote for them.
