       They have to keep the cat quarantined for 5 days after the injection because the urine and feces is radioactive (the half-life of the radioactive iodine is about 8 days).While not dangerous to humans, this is required because otherwise the radioactivity might end up in your household trash and you’d get a visit from the feds...
