       @kaikatsuOn the Internet, especially on Fedi, claiming this identity gives you a certain protection from criticism.You could continue being cis in your offline life, but on Fedi you could claim to be a black disabled autistic trans lesbian and cancel everyone you don't like.        @kaikatsu Still though, even without the abuse vector, there is an interesting scenario that comes to mind if identifying is all you need to be trans. Say a person lives as a man their whole life and never tries to present feminine, uses he/him pronouns and tells everyone they are a man, but thinks of themselves as a trans woman, they would a trans woman by that definition. Nothing bad about this, just an odd scenario that would be possible.
