If someone sending a (less than savory) message to you is "violence", it's very likely you haven't experienced violence. The Internet is a scary place, but there is no combination of packets that can be sent to your computer that can physically harm you. Period. When two left clicks will stop the interaction, it's not violence. Period. Acting like someone calling you a mean name on the Internet is "violence" is an insult to people who experience real physical violence on a daily basis.

This is what you must keep in mind when somebody asks for changes to open source projects in the name of "stopping violence"It's an attempt to appeal to emotion. It's an attempt to evoke imagery of lynchings, a battered woman, a sexually violated child, and say that mean comments on the Internet are one and the same with violent acts like these. And there's simply no congruency. Be careful about getting ideology from people who write fanfiction 40 hours a week.

@r000t yea using certificates exfiltrated from Realtek and JMicron, but it still conveys that "computers are scary when you let them affect the physical world"

@uninstallYeah, I thought briefly about Stuxnet when I wrote that status, but I figured it was obvious I was talking about words and speech, not executable code.
