To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand ActivityPub. The documentation is extremely generic, and without a solid grasp of theoretical quantum computing physics most of the details will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Gargron’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Karl Marx literature, for instance. The fediverse understands this stuff; it has the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these endpoints, to realise that they’re not just an API - they say something deep about REST. As a consequence people who dislike ActivityPub truly ARE idiots - of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the profoundness in ActivityStream’s existential catchphrase “This section is non-normative”, which itself is a cryptic reference to Wiley’s For Dummies book series. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Eugen Rochko’s genius wit unfolds itself on their timelines. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂And yes, by the way, I DO have an ActivityPub implementation. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the mastodonians’ eyes only - and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
