I miss the era where #email was a big deal and the primary means of electronic text communication, before the advent of #IRC, #IM apps and #SMS messaging. That era will never return, mind you.@brandon

@brandon @mattThere's certainly room for a better means of asynchronous communication, but I'm unsure if there's ever going to be widespread adoption now that most communication is done on centralised social media like Twitter and Facebook

@architect @brandon @matt It depends on the qualities of email that were better. Some might be possible to bring back, some probably aren't.

@matt @brandon IRC was invented in 1988 so there was a good chance it was popular when you were still using email only 😜

@matt @brandon we're back in 1994, when two in thousand people had email.

@matt @brandon It's still the primary means of electronic communication in business.I miss the days when everyone used e-mail for personal communication and I didn't need at half a dozen incompatible messaging apps.On the other hand, I don't miss FWD: fwd: FWD: RE: fwd: re: fwd: FUNNY JOKES. I'm kind of glad that moved to Facebook so I don't have to see it.
