if you're cis and ignorant about trans issues, that's almost certainly down to being raised in this cis centric world, i get that.but if you're not willing to learn even the basics and/or take me seriously, then i consider you a threat to my safety and don't want you near me.I don't care how this makes you feel.

That begs the question, what "defensive" steps will one take against this "threat"?The following comment about my deceased father is proof that its a threat. The next step is physical. Perhaps see it from my perspective?

@farhan@kasiaI know 6 years isn't enough to take away the pain of the loss of a parent, but using it to win an internet argument is not exactly a productive way to grow through the struggle. I recommend some of the writings of Paul Tugan. He has some great stuff about building yourself again after such a difficult loss
