Thread:I watched Hotel Mumbai last night. It's a movie based on real events and depicts the 2008 terrorist attack perpetrated by 10 Pakistani Islamists in Mumbai India. The terrorists hit several locations and their murder spree lasted 3 full days, resulted in 161 killed and 300 wounded.

A couple of thoughts came to my mind after watching Hotel Mumbai and recalling the scenes of massacres caught by CCTV cameras 11 years ago: 1. India has extremely strict gun laws. This fact was known by the terrorists who really didn't had a single worry in the world.

If you watch footage of the attack that are still on Youtube and read the survivors testimonies, they all say the perpetrators were very calm, walking casually, taking their time, talking on their phones, not having a worry in the world that someone may shoot back at them.

This is what happens when people trust the government to protect them. Now, I know the police response would have been a lot faster in the US, but 9 out of 10 times that still isn't fast enough. The Pulse club attack in CA comes to mind. Or the Aurora CO movie theater shooting.

I reviewed the TL back a bit & saw some references to being Romanian & staunchly anti-Communist (which is great, I despise that ideology too), then I saw some mention of the "rat" trope... interesting.
