so what?Pleroma basically wrote almost everything we use in our codebase ourselves from scratch."ActivityPub is a library" and "GNU Social is a library" are surely hilarious though.Screenshot_20190622_041604.png…

@kaniini i like the "hour to install on a modest host" part cause i remember it taking less than 20 minutes on the raspberry pi 2b i originally launched my glitch-soc instance on

@Luxotek it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, i can just download and run a copy of pleroma without building anything :P

@kaniini What an idiot. Is this person so dumb or is this intentional to distract from the fact that hey hadn't been able doing the same with a lot of money?

@kaniini 1. A system like mastodon (of pleroma, for that matter) would absolutely be in the million dollar ballpark if done for-profit2. "Gnu social is a library" loooooool3. We are gab now. Be free.

@kaniini it’s genuinely very funny that this makes no attempt to actually justify them forking a bunch of open source projects and calling them gab products and just blames things on lazy communists who have done a suspiciously high percentage of the work for them.

@kaniini So, they say Mastodon "started with an 18-wheeler full of open source that they did not write". But they're basing their stuff on that exact same foundation, plus whatever Mastodon devs added to it. I'm sure those 1 million will go to the open source developers then, since money should go to the people who put the work in, right?

@lain @kaniini Thank goodness for open source because Gab only had $3,000,000. They spent $2,900,000 on bees and Andy's house and wedding.

@kaniiniSo grabbing a lot of open source software and having fun with it, is communist. But grabbing some open software and trying to get a million dollars from some investors is a honest business?
