@piggo @ciaby The spanish dictionary says manteca is also butter but we don't really use it this way:https://dle.rae.es/?id=OGdz85iI only use the 2 to 5 meanings.As you can see here, mantequilla is *only* the one that comes from the milk, while manteca is a broader concept, often meaning animal or vegetable fat (because it's like a reference to the texture):https://dle.rae.es/?id=OHSwRer

@piggo @ekaitz_zarraga now that I remember: We say "mantequilla de cacahuete" (peanut butter) rather than "manteca de cacahuete". Both are correct but the former is more common.
