       i think archival is important, but what all this boils down to for me is that i think there is a big difference between "public" and "store this forever". storing something forever takes additional actions. if those additional actions are being taken where i don't explicitly give consent it feels like a violation. sure, i could delete those posts, but will i delete them before the archiving happens? i guess i just can't post those things publicly ... and well that feels like a violation of trust.i don't expect bad actors to gain that trust and i know i'm making myself vulnerable, but why ya gotta act like a bad actor? i archive a bunch of my stuff. however, i want this space to feel like a casual conversation with friends, and when you break that expectation it sucks
