I should maybe try to talk more about how I've tried to work towards a sort of "materialistic spirituality". none of my ideas are particularly well formulated, but they've been of use in progressing in the practice and witchcraft despite having a background almost entirely dedicated to understanding the physical world in scientific termsat first it was just a plurality thing. a way of reconciling, well, Kel energy (imaginative, happily embracing the magical as just...something that's fun and exciting) and Mono / Mona energy (analytical, never accepting any experience on face value, always looking for explanations and alternatives). I reasoned that there wasn't any real barrier to being BOTH of these things, despite the cognitive dissonancecos I'll let you in on a little secret: cognitive dissonance is a bad thing when it's _unnoticed_, _unexamined_. if you embrace and study your own cognitive dissonances, well, they become something better. in my opinion.

@kara_dreamer My personal take, in a nutshell: All magic happens between the ears. I *so* hear that cognitive dissonance, as an aspiring scientist and professed witch; this is my framework for working with that dissonance.
