I'm considering setting up a public adblocking DNS server with DoH (DNS over HTTPS) support.I'm thinking I can probably use Pi-hole for the adblocking but I don't really know anything about DoH but I'm sure it can't be *that* hard :yui_shrug: I'll probably call it "Neckbeard Names" or something like that.I haven't decided yet but I'll probably block anything and everything Facebook too. DNS over HTTP is horrifying and adds an entire TCP handshake, TLS handshake, and HTTP request. It is the worst way to do it and it only exists because bad coders don't know how the internet works.

@sjw @p DNSSEC doesn't even provide secrecy.For difficulty-to-fuck-with I think DoH wins by a very small margin, but use DNS over TLS for god's sake. It's like DoH but without the HTTP retardation, although I still personally prefer DNSCrypt2 because I'm familiar with it and it seems to have the least overhead (no need for handshake).Of course I would consider any traditional DNS harmful. I'm a fan of the "cryptographically secure addresses + petnames" model that i2p has and I think yggdrasil + personal DNS server is the way to go for any radically decentralized/mesh topologies.
