This was one of the stupidest drills ever.Let me list the ways.One, the Iranians have no ability to find US carriers at sea. Not during combat.Two, US carriers operate over the horizon, not 500 feet offshore.Three, we would bomb the speedboat sheds before the vessels were launched.Four, we would use cluster munitions on any boats that managed to leave their sheds.Five, carrier strike groups have seven layers of defense.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps tried all their tricks in 1988.Those speedboats are worthless.Comparing US capabilities of 1988 to today is not possible.But the IRGC is still confident that they can sink carriers with speedboats and Chinese missiles.The Houthis used Chinese missiles on US Navy ships.Our ships didn't have to take evasive action. The missiles flew all over the sky and fell into the water.But we eventually cluster-bombed the launching pads.

@Streichforce Carriers have lots of defenses that aren't advertised.This video shows a Saudi F-15 destroying a surface-to-air missile with some form of active countermeasure.The countermeasure is totally unknown. @Streichforce You can see that the missile warhead detonates AWAY from the jet, and it causes no damage.The ovoid flame is the afterburner.Not a single aviation "expert" is aware that the Saudis now have miniature antimissile missiles on their aircraft.I'm amazed at how blind people are.

@capnjoe @ThomasWic I don't think they could close all of the straight unless we let them. Our biggest threat is the 2000 little boats that would be on suicide missions from the start. The subs would be the next. Unless they think they can all get into one place undetected. Iran would have to put almost everything they have at us all at once and even if they did we would have plenty of notice.

The reason we didn't paint them all black is black tends to heat up and warp panels.So unless the Iranians plain is all composite it would probably RIP itself a part.
