I have no quality of life here. The guy across the street has EIGHT dogs.The legal limit is three.The dogs bark all day and night. There's a 600-pound woman inside the house, fused to the sofa, and all four of her adult daughters are morbidly obese.The street is breaking up into chunks.And everyone is deeply unhappy.But will they try to improve?HELL NO. @BillyRubin The city stretched a month-long renovation into over a year.We had to get the same permits eight times.They did this so that they could charge us each time.My brother finally went down in person and confronted the permit issuers. He threatened to sue each of them personally.They got scared and gave us the green light.The cement was poured yesterday.

@ThomasWic I have worked overseas for a while and what you describe one might expect in North Africa or parts of S.E. Asia, but not in the U.S. I am glad you will leave soon. I grew up in a suburb of L.A., so I have seen the deterioration as well. Both my parents died in the last five years, so I have no reason and no desire to go back to California when I return to the States. A shame. California was the land of opportunity for both of my parents and I had a nice childhood there.

@ThomasWic the non tourist life of Vegas is pretty cool. I spent one weekend at a friends place there. Cheap rent. Nice big apartments. There’s also a lot of quality music. Tons of musicians flock there for all the available work and all the competition means you can’t suck and survive I have a student moving there for all the avail live sound gigs. Very Smart kid, 18 now But Misguided. Claims to be a “ ‘real’ socialist and anarchist.” I tell him it’s a phase he’ll grow out of 😂
