Just noticed that BCH will hardfork to implement Schnorr signatures next week. It seems they've been doing it way faster than Bitcoin Core, is it because since they don't care hard-forking implementing it is easier? Or is there a catch somewhere (like it's lacking features that Bitcoin Core are working on)?https://news.bitcoin.com/schnorr-signatures-await-bitcoin-cash-as-the-next-fork-draws-near/

@Sosthene it's lacking features (Wuille et al's proposal is for Taproot, which provides MAST on top of Schnorr) and Bcash devs probably didn't have to wait for much community review, whereas that's perhaps the most important step for Bitcoin.

@harding what community? 😆 Ok so the perimeter is different and the process is probably way simpler because less people involved + is being able to just hardfork makes things easier too compared to a soft fork?

@Sosthene nah, hard forking doesn't make it easier. Wuiile's proposal uses the segwit upgrade mechanism specifically designed for this type of upgrade.
