       have i moaned before about googles material ui ?not quite surevwhat the goal is, but so much stuff fades in, fades out, changes size, colour,,,its less representative of physical material than holo was vanilla html is more material than material is

       @twee I remember watching the original Material Design concept videos and thinking "wow! This looks really cool and coherent!" And then it took ages for people to update their apps (including Google) and it just didn't feel like those concept videos at all, particularly the fact that you point out about it being supposed to look like its made of paper but it really doesn't... Then Google comes out with Material Design 2™ which is just a mess of Pure White and Hardly Visible Shadows 1/2

       @peanutbutter144 exactly. i think design trends are sad because holo was functional and coherent, but now everyone looks down on it because it looks dated
