Maybe social media was never designed with happiness in mind. I certainly didn't feel happy on twitter for all the years I spent there.

@wowaname And communication is a basic human need. It won't necessarily make one happy, but not having any communication will make one unhappy.

@wowaname It's hard to have a functioning relationship with people you never see in person. It's less intimate... there is less input. It misses out on so much. Social media competes with intimacy/closeness in person because you can only do one at a time.
