@katieNo, not considering the connotation of "job".I often look at hobbies and such as self focus/self care type of activities, and an occupation, I see as more other-centric. Perhaps framed as "what sort of thing you could do for other people would bring you joy?" might help?

@viciousviscosity I really, really want to be a storyboard artist and a penciller. I really want to help make finished stories more than really polish art to completion. @viciousviscosity Write. It's what I'm doing already in all the spare time I can get. I have a roleplaying game out with a lot of books planned, a novel set in the same universe started, a weekly blog - so much words in my head I need to get out and so little time to do it in. And tend to the farm in my spare time, getting a truck garden in, cleaning up the old silo and turning it into a workspace, fixing the causeway and getting the hay field back under cultivation.

@jessmahler What sort of things would you like to write? What areas of education interest you in particular? Any sort of gardening in particular?

@viciousviscosity Well, the writing I'm doing now. I've got three books out that are kind of 200-level Polyamory with another one coming, and a fantasy novel out with more of THOSE coming.Education would mostly be a range of activism-related stuff. LGBT, racism, disability, nonmonogamy/multilinking, kink, etc. Doing some of that on Quora, but would love to have the spoons to do more.And would love to have a large vegetable and herb garden.

@viciousviscosity First a pre-Big Bang glimpse, I think. Actually I'd go "everywhen".

@viciousviscosity pretty darn close! There's been a several-month lull in the stuff I want to do at work, but it's the kind of job that generally does what I want to do!

@viciousviscosity I'm pretty happy doing what I do now. Self-studying better scientific methods and coaxing other researchers to do better science. All on my own schedule.

@yogthosUsing your brain to figure out how you use your brain. π§ Noble endeavor.Leaning more about how and why is fascinating - especially when we find chemistry to adjust.
