Seasonal changes are stirring in the water as spring thaw is underway in the Great Lakes region of North America. Take a closer look at this view from one of our @NASAEarth satellites: https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/144747/a-clear-spring-view-of-the-great-lakes?utm_source=TWITTER&utm_medium=NASA&utm_campaign=NASASocial&linkId=65775391

@nasa Lake Michigan is a beautiful freshwater lake. From the top of the tallest buildings where I used to work in Chicago, on a very clear day (rare) you can seem to see the opposite shoreline. In the morning, the water shimmers like a garment. But it is really more like a little ocean, very treacherous if you are out on it and not prepared for sudden weather changes.
