       interesting side effect of the EU's article 13 is that it apparently doesn't include non-profits- which is to say people running federated platforms like mastodon/pleroma, peertube and all that kind of stuff is likely to be exempted from it

       @Juju i wouldn't say that at all... just that it'd have that effect which probably wasn't really intended or expected by the people writing the law; it won't encourage non-profits as much as it will make people using for-profit websites to accept the new rule because they feel powerless otherwise
