You handed it over to them, Tim.Remember when they included DRM in the drafts? Well, you fucked up and it's too late to cry now.

@h Thank you. We all gave our warnings. We all showed prior historical precedent. We all showed our predictions of the impacts. And he didn't fuckin' listen.Welcome to your brave, new world. Oh, and Tim, get fucked with a hot fireplace poker. You've lost *ALL* credibility with me.

@vertigo @h When we raised our objections in the working group meetings, we were ignored (at best) and asked to leave (at the very end). It was pretty much a foregone conclusion from the first time they told us to shut up.

@drwho @vertigo @h I must say I recall him pointing to a blogpost which suggested that EME would allow Netflix to experiment with NOT having DRM. (I don't understand why they couldn't already.)Now when Netflix is largely making their own stuff (hence DRM obligations), I instead find Vimeo On Demand opposite direction. And they're so discrete about their labeling I struggle to trust them.Just venting.

@alcinnz @drwho @h Netflix absolutely could experiment with DRM-free content. They merely used that as a bargaining chip when approaching the W3C about the proposal. They ate it, hook, line, and sinker.

@alcinnz @drwho @h It's OK -- I think we're all justified in venting.

@alcinnz "Venting" has a social purpose and that is to educate those who weren't around when those fuckers were destroying the web. It's okay to warn. Moreover, it may be a moral imperative to warn.It's not mindless frustration, although it may have the form of that sometimes. It signals that some people aren't to be trusted again.@drwho@hackers.town @vertigo
