       @USBloveDog look just like the recent overusage of "clout","crisis actors","bad actors", and "family units"; im going to be really really hyperanalyzing iti do not watch CNN/Fox News/ NBC/ whatevver news stations/sites (no twitter either)so when i read that some of their language is in use on the fedi, and commonly, im going to be hyper critcal of it((also of note: clout, isnt our word at all, and comes from ebonics- so the nonironic overuse of clout is kinda terrible))

       @thefishcrow Are you generally against loan words? Anyway, I find the only difference between an accusation of virtue signaling and one of being a performative ally is who tends to use which language. The substance of the two terms is identical, though they may have once had subtle differences in connotations before I learned them.
