@thor I like what you said. Interesting. But pronunciation imo is not nearly as big a problem as the fact that English is unlike Latin / romance languages in that it has no paradigmatic declensions & verb conjugations, a fossilized subjunctive voice, etc....I so feel for people who are trying to learn this shit as a second language

@clacke @profworr @thor @vanessa @klaatu it's easy though you just memorize all of the rules, like you do for any other languagei don't understand why people who are obviously perfectly capable of speaking english complain about its idiosyncrasies. even if there might be a bit more of them, they're really not that hard to get
