@ThomasWic My son has some PTSD from an explosive accident. Never been to war or any of that. But certain things make him relive it all over again. Fortunately it is fading.His Godfather was in WWII. @ThomasWic I’m a vet with PTSD w/ trips to Afghan and Iraq. What I’ve learned is it’s not exclusive to Combat vets. There’s more people running around non-diagnosed than “normal.” Heaven for bid everyone have the strength to get checked to get help and admit we have our problems. This dude is trying to use his status as a vet to sound like an expert. Keep up the good work and don’t listen to guys like that.

This guy says he was in the Australian 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. The photos show the M113 armored personnel carrier, which means 1976 to 1995.The unit saw no combat during that period, which is why our buddy is so angry that I have PTSD.He thinks it's something that only warriors suffer.

Educating people on mental illness is necessary. PTSD is one of the least understood illnesses. Thank you for putting yourself out there. It helps when people can see real life examples and hear real life peoples stories. I at one point thought PTSD was only caused by massive air pressure changes from artillary strikes. That cause is a physical change that rarely occurs today. So many more reasons.

@Ama @EarlThePearls @ThomasWic I had a friend many years ago who suffered PTSD, alcoholism and dissociative identity disorder. Her childhood was horrible. Her father, a police officer was a horrid man. Even as a woman, locals would not believe the things that she told about him and what she was forced to witness and partake in. You don't know what goes on behind closed doors. There are animals out there masquerading as humans.
